302. No parable for the light from God.

In verse (24:35) of the Quran, Allah declares Him as the ‘Light’ and also explains the parable.

Though the comparison of worldly light with that of God as ‘Light’ is not at all congruent and acceptable. A question arises, as to how can this be an example of God as a ‘Light’.

But here the comparison of God as ‘Light’ refers to the guidance provided by His religion and the straight path shown through it.

Because at the end of this verse we find the words “ To those who seek his ‘Light’, Allah guides them.

The meaning of the verse conveys that He will guide the straight path to those He wills, and show them the path to His religion.

Verses 2:55, 4:153, 6:103, 7:143, 25:21 of the Quran say ‘No one can witness the ‘Light’ of God.

The example portrayed in this verse refers to the guidance by the Almighty as the ‘Light’ that guides to the only religion recognised by Him and not necessarily refers to the material meaning of ‘Light’.

We should be aware of the verses 42:11, 112:4, that say there is no equal to God.
