463. If Allah takes the responsibility of feeding people, why do deaths due to hunger result.

In the following (6:14, 6:151, 10:31, 11:6, 17:31, 22:58, 26:79, 27:64, 29:60, 30:40, 34:24, 35:3, 51:58, 62:11, 65:3, 67:21, 106:4) verses of the Quran, the Almighty declares He is responsible for feeding the people. Some people put out impertinent questions such as why do deaths due to hunger occur, if Allah is responsible for feeding all living organisms including men.

Do these people mean to say that no one should die because the Almighty has taken the responsibility of feeding people? The Almighty taking responsibility for feeding a man means He is in charge of that man’s food necessity for as long as he is alive. And it also means none other than the Almighty is capable of taking charge.

Not only food, all the other necessities that are required during his lifetime are guaranteed by the Lord for the entire lifetime destined by Him, is the message conveyed here. Allah has made it clear that all his blessings to man are time bound, This can be found in verses (6:2, 7:34, 10:49, 11:3, 16:61, 71:4) of the Quran.

The responsibility of the Almighty ceases with the end of the life of the person guaranteed, and stops on his death.

This does not apply only to his food but to all his needs in general. When it is said the Almighty is also responsible for the health, security, protection, of each person does not mean to sensible people that no one would become sick nor die.
