254. Can one shoulder the burden of another?

The verses (16:25, 29:13) say ” They are saying thus, so that they may in the day of Judgement will not only bear their own burden but also those they misguided on earth”

But it is being said in the verses 2:134, 2:141, 2:281, 2:286, 3:25, 3:161, 4:111, 6:31, 6:164, 7:39, 7:96, 9:82, 9:95, 10:8, 10:52, 17:15, 35:18, 39:7, 39:24, 39:48, 39:51, 40:17, 45:22, 52:21, 53:38, 74:38, that one cannot shoulder the burden of the another.

The fundamental ideological structure of Islam is that no one shoulders the burden of another. The above cited verses (16:25, 29:13) cannot be considered as contradicting the fundemental structure of Islam.

Because if one misguides another, he must shoulder the misguided person’s burden. This does not amount to shouldering someone else’s but his own. Hence this cannot be considered as contradicting the Quran.
